BILLIE JOE ARMSTRONG

Billie Joe Armstrong (born February 17, 1972) is the lead vocalist, chief songwriter and guitarist for the American punk rock band Green Day. He is also a guitarist and vocalist for the rock band Pinhead Gunpowder and sings for garage rock band Foxboro Hot Tubs.
Billie Joe Armstrong was born in Oakland, California, and was raised in Rodeo, California, as the youngest of six children to Andrew "Andy" Armstrong and Ollie Jackson. His father worked as a jazz musician and truck driver for Safeway Inc. to support his family. He died of esophageal cancer on September 10, 1982, when his son Billie was ten years old. The song "Wake Me Up When September Ends" is a memorial to his father. He has five older siblings: David, Alan, Marci, Hollie, and Anna. His mother worked at Rod's Hickory Pit.Armstrong and Mike Dirnt got their first gig at Rod's Hickory Pit during their early years.
Armstrong's interest in music started at a young age. He attended Hillcrest Elementary School in Rodeo, where a teacher encouraged him to record a song titled "Look For Love" at the age of five on the Bay Area label "Fiat Records". After his father died, his mother married a man whom her children disliked, which made Armstrong retreat further into music. Armstrong dedicated a song to him called "Why Do You Want Him". At age 10 while attending Carquinez Middle School in nearby Crockett, California, he met Mike Dirnt, and they immediately bonded over their love of music. He became interested in punk rock after hearing the Sex Pistols song "Holidays in the Sun".Armstrong has also cited Minneapolis-based bands The Replacements and Hüsker Dü as major musical influences. Armstrong attended John Swett High School, also in Crockett, and later Pinole Valley High School, in Pinole, California, but then dropped out to pursue his musical career.

Joey Ramone

Birth name-Jeffrey Hyman
Best known as-Lead singer of The Ramones
Cause of death-Cancer:Lymphoma

Joey Ramone the 6ft. 6in. talled man was the lead singer of "the Ramones," the 1970s band that was credited with beginning the punk rock movement. The Ramones played raw tunes, fast and furious, with titles like "Teenage Lobotomy" and "I Wanna Be Sedated." (The other original Ramones were Tommy, Johnny and Dee Dee.) The band formed in 1974 and finally broke up in 1996 after releasing their last album, Adios, Amigos. He did not speak to guitarist "Johnny Ramone" for many years(rumors:till his last breath) cos Johnny stole his girlfriend "Linda," remember the song "KKK Took My Baby Away." The band's name was a insider salute to "Paul McCartney," who used the stage name "Ramon" very early in his career. His solo album "Don't Worry About Me" was released in 2002 and features the single "What a Wonderful World," a cover of the Louis Armstrong standard. This album featured a song entitled "Maria Bartiromo" in tribute to the popular CNBC anchor.

Joey along with the members of the legendry "Ramones"(Johnny, Tommy, Dee Dee and Marky Ramone) was conducted as Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in March 18, 2002.
It's so sad that Joey didn't live to experience that day, but we know how happy he is about it now, as he's watching us from punk heaven.

Patti Smith

Genres:Rock, Proto-Punk, Punk Rock, Alternative Rock

Known to many as punk rock's poet laurete. Patti Smith is arguably one of pinoneers of punk. She began as just a girl wanting to do poetry readings, and she turned into a legend in the eyes of many punks. She used her knack for poetry and imagery to write punk songs that were worth remembering, not for their music, but for their lyrics. Patti was one of the first female punks and she pushed boundries for many that followed her. The punk scene would be very different, and lacking a lot, had Patti not come along and gave us her heart and soul in her poetry and punk music.

Duane Peters

Duane Peters (born June 12, 1961), nicknamed "The Master of Disaster",is a punk rock singer/songwriter and professional skateboarder. Active since 1978, he is probably best known as the singer in the California punk rock band U.S. Bombs, which formed in 1993.Peters is credited for inventing many tricks, such as the "acid drop" into a pool/bowl, the "layback grind", the "Indy air", the "Sweeper", the "backside layback grind revert", the "fakie hang-up" (a.k.a. "Disaster"), the "invert revert", the "fakie thruster", and the "loop of death", a full 360-degree rotation in a specially designed loop.He also, along with Neil Blender, helped to evolve the footplant into the more dynamic fastplant
Peters was one of the very first high profile skaters to embrace punk rock, cutting his hair short and narrowing his jeans when most skaters were still wearing 1970s fashions. As shown on an Eye on LA television segment, Duane left the punk rock movement for the softer sound of "New Romantic/White Funk" music; even forming a band by the name of Tan-Dane
Along with skateboarding, Peters is a well-known punk rock singer. He has formed bands such as the US Bombs, Political Crap, Die' Hunns (also known as Duane Peters and The Hunns), Duane Peters Gunfight, and Exploding Fuckdolls. He also owns a record label called Disaster Records, which represents bands such as The Briggs, Civet and The Hollowpoints.

In 2000, Peters formed Duane Peters and The Hunns with Rob Milucky (previously of The Grabbers and The Pushers fame.) Within two years, the band released three full-length albums and undertook both national and European tours. At a The Damned show in 2002, Peters met future wife Corey Parks, who had just left her previous band, Nashville Pussy. Parks joined Duane Peters and the Hunns on bass guitar and soon the band changed their name to Die Hunns, recorded a fourth full-length album entitled Long Legs, Die' Hunns, and embarked on another tour.
