Blitzkrieg Bop was one of the first singles of the Ramones. It was
released in april 1976 in the United States.This song was named after the German World War 2, the term
"Blitzkrieg" which literally means "Lightning War", this song was
originally called as "Animal Hop".Blitzkrieg Bop opens with the chant "Hay! Ho! Let's Go!" which is
popular in sporting events. Blitzkrieg Bop is no. 92 on The Rolling
Stone list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. In march 2005, Q magazine
placed it at no. 31 in its list of the 100 Greatest Guitar Tracks, and
in 2008 Rooling Stones placed it no. 18 on Top 100 Greatest Songs of
All Time. In 2009 it was named the 25th Greatest Hard Rock Song of All
Time by Vh1.

Pennywise at Wrapt Tour in 2008 and Green Day in Rock and Roll Hall of
Fame in 2002, has also done the cover of Blitzkrieg Bop as a tribute to The Ramones.
